Reb Chaim Shimon Marks, a dedicated Lubavitcher Chossid who was devoted to Torah and Mitzvos, passed away on Thursday, 9 Tammuz 5783.
He was 66.
Born in Puerto Rico, Marks resided in various locations including Providence, Rhode Island; Worcester, Massachusetts; and most recently in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York.
He had the privilege of studying in esteemed Chabad Yeshivos such as Tomchei Temimim in Brunoy, France; Morristown, New Jersey and Hadar Hatorah in Crown Heights.
He worked as a Mashgiach and demonstrated meticulous care in maintaining the highest standards of Kashrus. He also actively participated in the Rebbe’s Mivtzoim, wholeheartedly helping people so Mitzvos and engaging in spreading the teachings of Chassidus.
He is survived by his father, Mordechai Yaakov Marks, and his sister, Andria Berkowitz; his wife, Simcha Marks, children Rabbi Yitzchak Marks – France; Leah Nagar – Toms River, NJ; Sima Cohen – Crown Heights; Shaya Marks – New York; Sheina Marks – Brooklyn, NY; Esther Glanstein – Woodburn, NJ; Mendy Marks – Monsey, NY; and grandchildren.
The levaya will take place on Thursday passing by 770 Eastern Parkway at 10:45. It will proceed to Jerusalem, where burial will be held on Friday morning.
