Two thousand people packed the Kharkov circus on Purim day in celebration of the holiday.
Hundreds of men and boys put on tefillin and over one thousand women and girls were given neshek. Everyone received Mishloach Manos and enjoyed an amazing program. Lions roared and ‘danced’ to Hava Nagila and the “Kenya Boys” did an amazing acrobatic show.
Rabbi Moishe Moskovitz spoke about the message of Purim and reminded everyone of the Mitzvos of Purim. For the Megilla reading Rabbi Levi Raices dressed up as a soccer fan of the euro 2012 which will be taking place in Kharkov in June 2012. The Cheder Menachem made a special choir under the direction of cantor Yitzchak Halfon.
The director of the circus who had come from Dneprderzhinsk ‘mentioned’ that he was Jewish ..and 5 minutes before the circus began …put on tefillin for the first time in his life!
The circus was just the beginning of a Purim full of mivtzoyim and peulos in Kharkov.
