Mr. Juan Hernandez Alvarado, the president of Honduras, and his wife, visited the Western Wall Sunday as part of their visit to Jerusalem, where he intends on opening a diplomatic office.
The president prayed for a long hour, put a note between the stones of the Wall and wrote in the Western Wall guest book:
“Thank You G-d for allowing me to represent Honduras at this time, to promise the fellowship with Israel… May this be the beginning of a blessing for our people.
Thank you Israel, our brothers, who keep guard of this holy city. May peace keep spreading among the nations. God bless Honduras.”
At the end of his visit, the president said: “The state of Israel can consider Honduras a close sister.
We now begin a new relationship. I have the right to be the president of Honduras and I thank you for keeping this holy place safe.”
