Microlab Road in Essex County in northern New Jersey was officially renamed “Miracle Way” on Thursday, JNS reported.
On hand to unveil the new street signs and mark the naming were Mayor of Livingston, N.J., Alfred Anthony, and former mayor and current Town Council member Ed Meinhardt. They were joined by Rabbi Zalman Grossbaum, who directs the Friendship Circle of NJ along with his wife Toba, as well as staff and volunteers.
The street is the location of the newly built Lifetown, a 53,000 sq. ft. center that will redefine the landscape for individuals with special needs.
Lifetown includes recreational, therapeutic and educational facilities – the first of its kind in the region – and will cater to the needs of all children, teens and adults. LifeTown’s inclusive setting will also host all of the Friendship Circle of New Jersey programs.
LifeTown’s focal point is “Life Village,” a simulated Main Street that will help prepare participants with special needs for independent living.
Designed with individuals of all ages and abilities in mind and using the latest technology, simulating real life in a safe and accessible environment is the goal at the $18 million LifeTown, which will celebrate its grand opening and dedication ceremony on Monday, Sept. 9.
LifeTown CEO Rabbi Zalman Grossbaum mentioned that the name of the street is apropos given everything that goes on at LifeTown.
He quoted the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, explaining that a miracle is when this world is impacted by extraordinary energies, which causes extraordinary things to happen. A good deed has the same transformative impact on the world. So, too, each good deed, creates miracles.
“The miracle of LifeTown is all the people, from community leaders, to our families and all the teens who volunteer, their energy and mitzvot have created miracles,” he said. “We are so proud to be in this town and so thankful for the town embracing LifeTown.”

Much Hatzlacha. Make the Rebbe proud
