America’s job market has begun to improve—at least for those with the skills needed to be considered employable in today’s work environment. With technology advancing at such a fast pace, training has never been as necessary and important as it is now.
Now more than ever, it is crucial for those seeking employment or career advancement to receive the training in technology and other industry-specific skills that can prove necessary and beneficial to join the workforce or to get ahead.
To help both men and women in the Crown Heights and surrounding communities become qualified and employable, The Geshem Center is offering career-tailored courses in various industries that are hiring now. Geshem’s Fall 2012 Session is underway, and the Winter 2012 Session I begins on November 18th, 2012.
“The Geshem Center has allowed me to take high-level courses on graphic and web design while being a full time employee,” says Esther N.
“It is very convenient to have the Geshem Center in the center of Crown Heights with evening hours and affordable prices. The lessons are taught by very devoted teachers and the level of instruction in all of the courses I’ve taken has been excellent.”
For men looking to enter the technology industry, Geshem is offering a comprehensive Computer Programming course. The course commences on November 18th, along with IT Networking, a course which provides entry-level knowledge in computer networks leading to advanced concepts in network configuration, network security, wireless networking, and more.
Most employers require their employees to have a minimum of a high school diploma or an equivalent such as the GED. Geshem prepares students to take the GED test, which is given statewide multiple times a year. The next General Education Development (GED) Test Preparatory class for men will begin on December 5th.
The final two courses offered to men this upcoming session are: Microsoft Office and QuickBooks, which begins on November 19th, and Video Production, which begins on November 26th.
The Geshem Center also offers classes for women: Graphic Design II—Adobe InDesign, a page layout and design program, which begins on November 18th, and Marketing for Small Businesses, which begins on November 19th.
These classes offered by The Geshem Center will help to equip its participants with the skills needed to compete and be qualified for today’s technology and information job market.
