Hundreds of members of the Jewish community and visitors to the Czech Republic stood at the feet of the tall Menorah built by Chabad of Prague, this past Sunday.
It was situated in front of the Rudolfinum, one of the most noteworthy neo-renaissance style buildings in the city and on the bank of the Vltava river.
Shliach Rabbi Manis Barash welcomed the participants and spoke about the timeless message of Chanukah that a little light can clean off a lot of darkness.
He was joined by the Israeli ambassador to the Czech Republic, Gary Koren and the Mayor of Prague, Tomas Hudecek.
Following the blessings and the lighting ceremony, participants were invited to enjoy holiday foods in the Chabad center. The menorah there was lit by Professor Alex Fried.
