Chabad of the Town Holds Gala

What a beautiful sight to see over 500 people, gathering the last night of Chanukah, for Chabad of the Towns Gala Raffle Chinese Auction.

BMW Canbec’s large showroom was transformed to an exquisite buffet of smoked meat, Chinese food, sushi and dessert reception and open bar while the Chinese auction prizes were beautifully displayed.

Chabad sold out the $177,000 of raffle tickets before the evening had even begun, so everyone had a good time perusing the beautiful assortment of prizes to win, feasting and saying L’chaim.

The crowd then enjoyed an entertaining program featuring the comedian Elon Gold who had the crowd roaring in laughter followed by Jamey Turner whose rendition of ‘Siman Tov’ and ‘Maoz Tzur’ from glasses filled with water had the crowd amazed.

The main prize of $18,000 was shared by David Kakon and Chazan Yitzchak Lebovics and 8 others won cash prizes. There were 43 Chinese auction prizes with some winners taking home several prizes.

Rabbi Moshe and Dina Krasnanski thanked the crowd for participating in the raffle, which is used for Chabad’s many youth and teen programs including Camp Gan Israel, Hebrew School, Kids in Action, Teen club, Layla Tov and holiday programs. He also thanked the corporate sponsors who cover the Raffle prizes and event cost.

Everyone left in good spirits for supporting this worthy cause, with a beautiful memento credit card holder.
