Tzivos Hashem – Jewish Children International, the long-time Lubavitch youth movement, has inaugurated Mr. Yossi Popack as their new Chairman on Thursday.
Popack, a Brooklyn real estate proprietor and a known philanthropist and supporter of Chabad causes, has taken over the role, replacing the late Stanley Elberger who served as chairman for the past 10 years.
He was given the title at a meeting with Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson, Executive Director of Tzivos Hashem, and other officials of the organization which took place at the Jewish Children’s Museum.
As Chairman, Popack will be involved in the continuance of the organization’s activities and be involved in its growth as it moves forward into its 31st year.
Popack and his family have always had a close connection to Tzivos Hashem, COLlive was told. His children have been receiving magazines, attending programs and enjoying their many projects since an early age.
Participants in Tzivos Hashem programs are youngsters under the age of Bar/Bat Mitzvah (12/13 years old) from backgrounds spanning the spectrum of levels of Jewish education and Jewish affiliation, without regard to social and economic status.
Popack, a resident of the Five Towns, will be inaugurated in a public ceremony at the annual Tzivos Hashem Dinner to take place January 16th at the Hilton in New York City.
