A Siyum and Hachnosas Sefer Torah took place Sunday in Michigan, honoring the memory of Mrs. Freida Bluma Polter o.b.m., dedicated and sponsored by the Flint Jewish Community, and friends and relatives from all over the world.
The celebration took place at the Chabad House of Eastern Michigan, directed by Rabbi Yisroel and Shainie Weingarten.
The celebration was Baruch Hashem an outstanding success with great participation and joy from the Flint community along with friends and relatives from Detroit and abroad.
Participants had the opportunity to fill in a letter of the Torah, alongside expert Scribe Rabbi Levi Kagan. The final letter was written in by Rabbi Yisroel Polter.
The keynote speaker was Rabbi Yossi Shemtov, Shliach to Toledo, Ohio, who warmly addressed the crowd by awakening within them their individual connection to the Torah specifically in preparation for the new year.
Amongst the many participants was Rabbi Berl Shemtov, Regional Director of Lubavitch in Michigan, Mr. David Leyton, Prosecuting attorney of Genesee County and other Shluchim and Anash from all over the State.
Wish I could have been there. It looks so inspiring.
