Israel’s Minister of National Infrastructure Uzi Landau was delighted to read a letter from the Rebbe during a reception at Chabad of Colombia this past Motzoei Shabbos.
Landau, a veteran right-wing politician, arrived with the senior staff of the Israeli embassy in Bogota, including Ambassador Meron Reuven.
They were warmly welcomed by Rabbi Yehoshua Rosenfeld, Head Shliach of Colombia, who presented Landau with a letter the Rebbe wrote to his late father, Chaim Landau, who was also an Israeli Minister.
Interestingly enough, the Adar 5730 letter discusses revealing treasures hidden underground – an area under the jurisdiction of the Landau Jr. office.
Rabbi Rosenfeld explained how the Rebbe called to search the hidden treasures in the soul of every Jewish man and woman, encouraging them to do good.
Landau responded by repeating his known and firm stance on the safety and security of the Jews in Israel, emphasizing that the “Tanach is our sole proof for our ownership of the land of Israel.”
The minister added that in his travels “there is no place where I have not found Chabad people who do holy work.”
Can you show us a copy of that Letter or tell us at least where it is printed. It would help.
