A new state-of-the-art, missile-proof indoor playground was dedicated in the embattled city of Sderot, Israel on Wednesday.
The playground was dedicated by of Yakov Yarmove of Chicago, together with corporate sponsor Osem and the Jewish National Fund.
The city, which is located a short 7 km from the Gaza Strip, is the site of constant missile attacks.
“It was something special seeing kids that cannot play outside due to missiles literally raining down on their city,” said Yarmove. “Many hit just last week.”
Over 300 families attended the event, and expressed their gratitude to Yarmove, Corporate Business Manager for the SuperValu company, and were clearly touched by the support.
Also in attendance were David Buskila – Mayor of Sderot, Russell Robinson – CEO of the Jewish National Fund U.S.A., and Izzet Ozdagan – President of Osem U.S.A.
“It was a huge Kiddush Hashem and Kiddush Lubavitch,” said Yarmove, “to have the chance to show support for the Mesiras Nefesh that these Yidden have living under fire every day.”
