Piloting a global initiative set to be announced in the coming days in honor of Yud Shevat 70 Years, Chabad communities in Argentina, Texas, Detroit and Montreal have begun working on community projects and hachlotos to mark this major milestone with additional learning of the Rebbe’s Torah and focusing on practical ways to bring Yidden closer to the Rebbe.
Hundreds of Anash in these communities expressed their excitement about the initiative and have already signed up.
The initiative is being organized by Vaad Or Vechom Hahiskashrus following a special meeting with the participation of over fifty leading shluchim and askonim during the Kinus Hashluchim.
“The two parts of this initiative are intertwined: 1) we have the obligation to bring every Yid in our reach, be it a business acquaintance, neighbor or relative, closer to Yiddishkeit and the Rebbe and 2) the way to be successful in influencing others is by deepening our own connection to the Rebbe and his teachings,” said Rabbi Chaim Lazaroff of Houston, Texas.

In Argentina, the project was announced during the annual Yud Tes Kislev dinner, attended by a crowd of 750 members of anash, as well as the wider Jewish community.
“This Yud Shevat will mark 70 years of the Rebbe’s leadership, we will be entering the decade of ״אם בגבורות שמונים שנה״ – the decade of strength and energy. In this time we must remember that each and every one of us has the potential to reach out to at least 10 Jews in our areas with Teffiln, Mezuzos, Shabbos candles, and Jewish education. And if we all do our part, collectively we can ultimately reach tens of thousands of Yidden and bring about the coming of Moshiach immediately,” said Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt, the Head Shliach, in his address.
The campaign will be uniting many of the 250+ anash communities from around the world in a very powerful and unique way in honor of Yud Shevat. Details of this initiative will be announced globally over the next few days.
