This is pretty unfortunate and unnecessary
In Bay ridge, what’s wrong with the way it was?
What was done with all the old stones ? Would’ve been nice to distribute to chabad houses to place in their buildings
this is not on the walkway, it’s on the sidewalk.
We couldn’t afford the numbers ‘770’ in a nice font, with a round zero?
Really really beautiful, and obviously they can’t do a round 0 because then the bricks wouldn’t be able to fit in properly
It can be. With the right initiative and expertise. Lol
Nice idea but brick color should have been darker to match the building.
When something is too nice here comes the ball rolling of complaints, from all the comments above. Me I say one word: wow!👍
it looks really nice
I don’t know why people are getting upset for nothing
I don’t think ppl are upset or negative about this at all.
I think there are some opposition being that for 212 + years we know (as the Rebbe was adamant to always referring to 770 as Mikdash Mi’aat, from the Nosie Hador)
As a well known fact since the Baal Hatanya….
As the Rebbe said many times…
טשעפעט ניט מיט געטליכקייט.
מיש ניט אריין אין בית הרב
I’m sure you understand !!!
So there’s no opposition or negativity. Rather this (maybe) is inappropriate.
Ugly, color is way off, and numbers are not not classy.
Its upto date and the work was done well!
In case you did not pass by to see the work, the sidewalk is now wired to melt snow. A very nice improvement.
Yasher koach to whoever is behind all this recent fixing up and beautifying 770!
Now all the 770 copies around the world will have to add it too…
but pls don’t forgot the past, the bricks much be preserved and used for good
Love the new additions!!
*making it clear that this is the SIDEWALK OFF of the actual building. Look again, it may seem like the steps and part of the original property but NO it’s just the square side walk on the street…chap?
So those saying preserve the bricks or etc, nothing was removed from the original property from 770. They just removed the SIDEWALK and added this gorgeous piece of art! Mazel tov!
What you say is not accurate. Everything from the sidewalk all the way up to the entrance door was replaced, and the door refurbished. See the pictures in the earlier articles.
Beautiful
But it kinda looks like Soviet poster art
How can we change and try to modernise this holy place!!! This is not a tourist attraction r”l. This is the beis rabeinu sh’babavel.
As with all that is holy, we do not deviate from the way it has been.
Why try to fit in? Can’t we just stay the same?
