This Tishrei 5780, as you daven for your family, help deserving couples in our community build families of their own.
There is a well-known minhag that a husband of an expectant mother is given ‘pesicha’ – to open the Aron Kodesh during davening as a segulah for a healthy birth. The earliest source of this custom dates back to the Chida (1700s) and is sourced in Kabbalah.
The Rebbe mentions in this specific merit in three different letters (Igros Kodesh V:327, VI:27, VII:108). Even more than the act of opening the Aron itself, Tzedakah is a known and established zchus for many brachos.
Bonei Olam Chabad, which provides financial and medical support for couples going through infertility, is offering the community opportunities to participate in Pesicha in the main shul of 770 Eastern Parkway, at the Rebbe’s minyan, throughout the Yamim N’oraim.
The merit was donated to the organization by an anonymous donor. There are 43 opportunities available for individual donors to purchase a specific Pesicha for $250 as a z’chus for themselves or others.
Various Pesichos during the davening correspond to meaningful Tefillos of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur drawing down Brachos for the year ahead. The honor of opening the Aron during these special Tefillos, on the holiest days of the year, in the Rebbe’s shul, is an incredible opportunity to tap into unlimited Brachos for children and other needed blessings.
Many Chabad couples in Crown Heights and around the world struggle with infertility and are davening and waiting for a miracle of their own. This month alone, Bonei Olam Chabad is providing financial support to 17 couples within the Chabad community pursuing primary fertility treatments. The costs of these treatments are astronomical, and the financial and emotional toll on couples is unimaginable.
Let us partner with Hashem in growing Klal Yisrael through the unlimited power of Tzedakah and Tefillah. May the Pesichos on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur be only the beginning of brachos for all.
