Hi Boys and Girls! Welcome back to the Parsha Studio!
The fast of Shivah Asar B’Tammuz, the 17th of Tammuz, is coming up this week, which is a solemn day on the Jewish calendar. This is the day when the Beis Hamikdash was destroyed. The Beis Hamikdash was the focal point of Judaism, where all Jewish people would come together, and where the Kohanim and Leviem would serve and praise Hashem. With the coming of Moshiach, the third Beis Hamikdash will be rebuilt, and we will once again witness Hashem’s light and miracles. Let’s strive to perform as many mitzvos as possible so that this can become a reality very soon!
When we pray the Shmone Esrei, we always make sure to face east/Mizrach, towards where the Beis Hamikdash stood. Today, we’re going to create a beautiful painting saying “Mizrach” to remind us of this. And guess what? We’re going to use a special kind of tissue paper that reveals its colors when you paint it with water. Exciting, right? Let’s get started!
