While school just finished and we are off to a summer filled with relaxation and fun, let’s not forget that a whole new school year is just around the corner, starting in a few short months. Watching children advance provides a great sense of pride for parents; for a child beginning a new school year means a whole lot more. There are countless changes, adjustments, and expectations ranging from new classrooms and teachers to friends and new rules. Going “back to school” is almost like starting a brand-new job each year!
Beyond the anticipation and excitement, the pressure is palpable and often presented by the child in non-verbal ways. Parents are tasked with creating that “launching pad” for children to take off and soar the whole year through. From routines and schedules to boundary setting, tuning in and developing core social skills, this workshop will provide tools that parents can immediately implement.
Let’s utilize the summer months to reload your toolbox and provide your child with the ability to return to school with a heightened sense of confidence and support.
This complimentary workshop is for mothers of children ages 3-12 and will be offered in-person at Miriam’s Motherhood Center in Crown Heights.
The 5-part workshop will meet weekly beginning this Monday, July 11th at 1:00 PM.
