Crown Heights has been at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic since it arrived months ago, and continues to pioneer towards its care. We are super appreciative of generous support from the community as we support research and care related to COVID-19.
A new study attempting to create a rapid COVID-19 antibody test is coming to the Crown Heights community, to use its large pool of people with proven antibodies.
The test, being developed in partnership with Orthodox Jewish doctors and medical professionals, looks to enhance the testing options for COVID-19 antibodies with a rapid and simple saliva test.
The organizers of this study are looking for volunteers who were previously Swab (PCR) POSITIVE ONLY to provide saliva and several small blood samples to be used in developing the rapid test. A rapid lateral flow test for antibodies will be performed on site and result provided to the participants. Participants will also be given a $75 honorarium for their time and effort to help with this study. If you have been tested for Nasal Swab PCR POSITIVE for COVID-19, and would like to participate in the paid study, please visit this link to fill out your information:

At present, the only way to test for COVID-19 antibodies is an extended blood test that must be sent to a lab, significantly slowing doctors ability to identify COVID-19 antibodies and creating a backlog in laboratory testing. With this saliva based test, doctors will be able to identify antibodies more rapidly and easily.
