Beth Rivkah, one of Crown Heights’ most accredited girls’ schools, completed their third fundraiser on Wednesday evening, November 14th. With the help of the Overpass dialer app, the school’s Chardiy campaign surpassed its goal of $1.5 million in donations.
Beth Rivkah was founded in 1941, as the world’s first Chassidic girls’ school. The unwavering goals of the school are to provide young women with a high standard of Jewish education, Jewish pride, and the tools necessary to succeed in their ongoing efforts to illuminate and transform the Jewish landscape worldwide. Beth Rivkah aims to inspire and empower students to reach personal excellence and to be responsible members of American society.
With over five-hundred members of dedicated staff, three fully functioning campuses, and utilities, the upkeep of the school runs millions to maintain each month. The proceeds from their third fundraising campaign will enable the school to continue its noble mission and ensure the best environment for the students. Beth Rivkah, set a goal this year to receive $1.5 million in donations from the supporting members of the community.
For this fundraiser, Beth Rivkah teamed up with Overpass.com to help boost their crowdfunding efforts. Overpass was founded by Lavie Popack, a Crown Heights native with strong ties to the community and Beth Rivkah. Overpass equipped the volunteers with centralized calling and contact management through a mobile app.
Running the campaign strictly through the app eliminated the need of having paper contacts, bulky computer equipment and running wires. Instead, each volunteer was able to call donors on smartphones. The thirty-four-hour campaign was seamless with a packed room of ardent and energetic volunteers all working towards a common goal. With over 200 volunteers making 21,000 calls, the team closed out 2,174 donors and raised a total of $1,551,833, surpassing their initial goal.
“The Overpass team was so dedicated and professional and gave so much of their time on both nights of the campaign. I got a lot of positive feedback from the volunteers on how easy the system is to use, and how they were able to go through so many phone calls so efficiently,” said Yossi Baumgarten, Campaign Manager for Beth Rivkah.
“There was a lot of great energy in the room, and we were thrilled to be a part of such an amazing and phenomenal cause,” Said Armando Fernandez, Account Manager for Overpass.
Beth Rivkah is committed to furthering their mission of providing the best schooling experience possible for the community of young Jewish women. Overpass looks forward to continuing their efforts in servicing similar organizations with their fundraising needs.
