The first test of the year at 770’s Dayanus program took place this past week in Rosh HaYeshiva Rabbi Zalman Labkowsky’s home, multiple groups were arranged to accommodate the over fifty participants who have recently enrolled in the program.
“This program has brought about a true revolution in the fulfillment of the Rebbe’s directive that Dayanus be taken up by anyone who is capable. To the best of my knowledge there has never been such a large group learning Dayanus together in Lubavitch history,” relates Rabbi Ahron Liberow, who has recently been hired to head the program.
The program is known as being one of the most comprehensive and prestigious Dayanus programs out there, covering most major parts of all four sections of the Shulchan Aruch, and culminating with receiving Semicha in the entire Shulchan Aruch “Yoreh Yoreh Yodin Yodin”. Unlike many other programs which cover only parts of Choshen Mishpat, 770’s Hanhala has always believed that one cannot be a Dayan or a Rov of a community without being proficient in the Halachos of Shabbos and Birkas Hanehenin, and without having a hand in the various other major parts of the Shulchan Aruch such as Mikvaos and Kidushin.
“The program gives the opportunity and structure to delve in and cover so many important sugyos in Halacha. The fact that the learning is done together as part of a large group, providing the many opportunities to discuss over the halachos with others, makes the experience all the more enjoyable,” says Rabbi Menachem Fogelman, who has just successfully completed the entire program.
The program is now open for registration, new participants will start the cycle with Hilchos Kidushin beginning in the middle of Chodesh Shevat. The deadline for registration is Sunday, Zayin Shevat. For questions or to register please email: [email protected].
