Lubavitch Mesivta and Yeshiva in Detroit will be closing beginning Sunday, and its students will be heading home early for Pesach, following mandated school closing in the state.
“Following the Michigan Governor’s orders of mandated school closing, and subsequent discussion with Rabbonim and medical professionals, we are pained to announce that the Mesivta’s physical facility will be closed until we are able to open once again,” they wrote to parents.
“Given the uncertainty surrounding airline travel and availability, talmidim may return home beginning on Sunday morning,” they said.
“We will do everything within our ability to minimize the disruption through efforts to arrange online learning, etc. as soon as possible, as well as helping to arrange clusters of learning between bochurim who are geographically close (where allowed).
“During the talmidim’s remaining time in Yeshiva, we will encourage and facilitate setting up chavrusos for their daily learning,” they said.
