Kiddush Hashem!
Whilst Australia is battling the worst bush fires in its known history, with nearly 2000 homes destroyed, at least 24 people killed and almost a half a billion animals lost.
Aliya Youth Space, Chabad of RARA and Chaverim Melbourne volunteers teamed up and hit the road on Tuesday, the 10th of Teves, which is a fast day.
They were assisted by local Melbourne Jewish Community members who were wondering how they could help. They took food packages that they prepared for those affected by the devastating bush fires around Victoria and NSW.
The meals were delivered to the shelters where those, who lost their homes and belongings, are being housed temporarily. They were well received and much appreciated by the volunteers and emergency services.
Further supplies in the coming weeks will be sent out and delivered in various states around Australia.
