Thousands of men, women and children from around the world flocked to Cambria Heights, Queens, throughout Friday to daven at the Rebbe‘s Ohel.
The large pilgrimage, bringing together Chassidim and Jews from all walks of life, commemorates the 25th yartzeit of the Rebbe on Shabbos.
Special tents were set up in the Old Montefiore Cemetery to accommodate the long lines. Videos of the Rebbe were playing in a loop as many began their davening and reading Tehillim while they wait to enter.
At the Ohel of the Rebbe itself, visitors were given few minutes to remain inside to read their personal ‘pan’ letter of request and allow others to enter as well.
A general ‘pan kloli’ was read by Rabbi Avraham Shemtov, Chairman of Agudas Chassidei Chabad International, the umbrella organization of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.
Joining him were fellow members of the board of Aguch: Rabbi Mendel Lipskar – Head Shliach of South Africa; Rabbi Yisroel Shmotkin – Head Shliach of Wisconsin; Rabbi Shimon Lazaroff – Head Shliach of Texas; and Rabbi Yossi Groner – Head Shliach of the Carolinas.
In the pan, signed by many chassidim, they requested blessings and guidance to continue the Rebbe’s mission to prepare the world for the coming of Moshiach.
