Concluding the school year at Oholei Torah school in Crown Heights, teachers and staff of all divisions of the school gathered for a Teachers Appreciation event.
The luncheon event, which has been done annually for the past few years, is sponsored by Rabbi Shloimy and Mirile Greenwald. The event is held to “take time to show appreciation to the mechanchim of our community, the individuals that make the school year happen through their dedication and devotion,” Rabbi Mendel Blau, the Menahel Roshi, said.
Rabbi Mendel Blau led the program and thanked all the teachers personally, and said he is looking forward to the continued growth of the Yeshiva.
Rabbi Avrohom Hertz, a teacher in Oholei Torah, said a Dvar Torah.
Rabbi Nute Speigelman, a teacher in the school, spoke from the perspective of a mechanech. He expressed the feelings of being fortunate to work in a mosed and in the field of Chinuch.
Rabbi Chaim Yisroel Wilhelm, Menahel of the Mechina division, spoke about the challenge he faced this school year of moving to a new location, and how they were able to turn that into an opportunity for tremendous growth in the division.
Rabbi Meir Shimshoni, principal of the younger division, thanked the teachers for their dedication throughout the year to their students.
Rabb Shloimy Greenwald, community activist and sponsor of the event, expressed appreciation to the school as a parent and supporter. Rabbi Greenwald spoke about the importance of Hakaras Hatov, and mentioned times when the Rebbe expressed hakaras hatov to various individuals and what we learn from it.
