Members of the maareches editorial board of the kovetz Haoros uBiurim of Oholei Torah marked the end of the year with the director of the project and beloved long-time teacher Reb Avrohom Gerlitzky.
Kovetz Haoros uBiurim began in the year 5740 and has been published weekly / bi-weekly ever since. The Rebbe would often devote whole portions of his sichos to discuss issues brought up in that week’s kovetz.
This year marked the 42nd year of the production of the Kovetz, which are sent to every Shul in Crown Heights before Shabbos, the Ohel, and other locations.
Aside from the usual ones, there were 3 expanded ones made this year, for Yud Shvat, Yud Alef Nissan, and an upcoming one for the yartzeit of the Rebbe on Gimmel Tammuz.
“Everywhere you go, people are always talking about the kovetz Haoros, what this Rov has to say, about the various Haoros, etc.,” said Avi Katz. “This kovetz has been coming out almost every week for over 42 years, it was a tremendous zechus to take part in this kovetz this year.”
The members of the board who worked tirelessly every other week to put out a new Kovetz were thanked.
This year’s editors, led by Rabbi Gerlitzky, included Dovid Lifshitz, Boise, ID, Avi Katz, Surfside, FL, Sholom Ber Gurary, Buffalo, NY, Mendel Hazan, Rome, Italy and Mendy Oirechman, Vancouver, Canada.
