Oholei Torah Hosts Inspiring Young Alumni Gathering

Oholei Torah held a vibrant and uplifting Motzei Shabbos event for young alumni, on Yud Kislev, drawing an exceptional turnout of more than two hundred fifty participants between the ages of twenty two and thirty two. The evening brought together graduates and friends from across the past decade for connection, inspiration, and renewed pride in their Yeshiva. The event was catered and co sponsored by Joseph Dream Burger and generously supported by our five corporate sponsors: Chesky Malamud of Eagle Strategies and New York Life, Yanky Rimler of FM Home Loans, Shaya Naparstek of North Shield Insurance, Yossi Chayo of Bellissimo, and Yuda Chein of AI Auto Leasing.

Rabbi Mendel Blau, Rosh Moisad, delivered a heartfelt Dvar Torah, drawing meaningful lessons from the Mitteler Rebbe about Chinuch. Board member Rabbi Nachman Dov Wichnin spoke about the importance of being involved in your son’s Yeshiva and supporting the mosdos of your community, reminding the crowd of the impact their engagement can have on the next generation. The event was spearheaded and emceed by Rabbi Mendy Feldman, director of community engagement, under the development office.

Rabbi Yehoshua Lustig offered a sweeping look at the past ten years at Oholei Torah, noting that as the Yeshiva approaches its seventieth year, this decade marks a powerful chapter of progress. He reflected on how much has changed since this age group was in Yeshiva as talmidim, highlighting the remarkable growth from year sixty to year seventy, the broadening support for parents and talmidim, and the ongoing challenge of operating with very limited space despite significant expansion efforts. For many attendees it was their first time hearing the full scope of how far the Yeshiva has come and how much more is needed as enrollment continues to rise.

The program concluded with remarks from alumnus Izzy Clapman, who spoke warmly and humorously about his own memories in Oholei Torah, connecting with the audience through shared experiences. He encouraged his peers to join together in supporting the Yeshiva, especially as Oholei Torah celebrates seventy years of impact. He invited attendees to consider committing seventy dollars a month for the year in honor of this milestone, and many proudly raised their hands to participate.

Guests enjoyed music, socializing, and an atmosphere filled with pride and camaraderie. Several board members were in attendance, adding to the sense of unity and shared purpose. The entire evening reflected the strength of the Oholei Torah alumni community and the deep connection that continues long after graduation.
