Members of the Jewish music industry have been congratulating Chasdei Soul II Soul and COLlive.com for launching the Chassidic singing competition ‘A Jewish Star.’
As contestants begin to send in their video auditions, insiders say they are looking forward to discovering raw and refreshing talent.
“I think it’s an amazing idea,” said popular singer Ohad Moskowitz who was in New York this week to perform at the OHEL 2009 concert.
Ohad was seen browsing the competition’s website – www.AJewishStar.com – at an Apple store with producer David Fadida.
“I would like to wish you all good luck,” Ohad said Wednesday, in a video message to contestants.
The first of its kind in the music world, A Jewish Star seeks to discover the next Jewish singing star through online auditions and voting, with the winner announced live by a panel of judges at the Soul II Soul concert.
