Rabbi Mordechai Katz, the longtime Rabbi at NYU Langone Medical Center in Manhattan, is in critical condition from contacting the coronavirus (COVID-19), according to reports.
Rabbi Katz taught Jewish studies in elementary and high schools for 18 years before becoming a rabbi. He attended Telshe Rabbinical College near Cleveland, Ohio. He has worked with patients and families through chaplaincy services at NYU Langone for 13 years.
Please say Tehillim for Gimpel Mordechai Daniel ben Sara Itta.
A news website in Israel posted that Rabbi Katz has passed away and it also identified him as a resident of Crown Heights. Both are not true. This report sadly joins other fake news that have been circulating on social media since the Coronavirus outbreak.

And good health and good news for all of Am Yisrael!
is supposed to be a סגולה for Arichas Yamim.
Mordechai Daniel ben Sarah Ita should have a COMPLETE REFUAH with Briyus Nechona and get up and be healthy and have long good years ahead!
Refua sheleima!!
Clevelanders have found memories of his special choruv parents and their love for all of Klal Yisroel. They were moser nefesh for torah and Klal yisroel and the mesorah was faithfully transmitted to all the children.
Please note that Rabbi Katz had a name added, and it is now:
Gimpel Mordechai Doniel ben Sora Ita
גימפל מרדכי דניאל
Refuah Shelaimah to Rabbi Mordechai Daniel Ben Sara Ita
We Want Moshiach Now!
A letter was purchased for him in the Sefer tora haklali. May he have a complete and speedy recovery!
He is also the “dorm father” for a dormitory at Touro’ Lander College for Women.
I got to know him personally.
