The NYPD 71st Precinct is reminding Crown Heights residents that Shuls are only allowed 10 people at a time, until further notice.
“All Shuls are only allowed 10 people inside, regardless of size or amount of space,” Detective Vinny Martinos of the 71st Precinct told COLlive.
Martinos said that the 770 building remains locked at this time, until further notice.
This Shabbos, following the orders from Governor Cuomo, the 770 Shul was opened for a minyan of 10 people only. Some residents arrived at 770 only to be turned away.
“Please do not come to 770 because you will not be allowed inside, and there is still to be no congregating outside until the CDC restrictions are lifted,” he said.
Martinos also said “we prefer not to have to disperse crowds, especially while they are praying, so please do not remain and congregate outside if you are not allowed into the Synagogue,” he said.
He noted that the restrictions “could change any day now.”
Put up a Walmart sign it Costco sign above 770 and put some food on the shelves and the you can have hundreds of people in there. Or empire kosher can be used as a shul on shabbos
Coronavirus is not a joke, it has claimed the lives of too many of our community. The reason Wal-Mart and Costco are open is because otherwise people would starve. It’s not a joke and not difficult to understand.
point is nobody died because they went shopping. if people were dying they would shut down those stores as well. 770 is huge it can hold 100 people in a safe way. 10 people is a joke.

Trump issued an executive order on Friday to Force all Governors to open all shuls without restrictions.
Trump promissed that he will force the Governors to comply.
If the Police are going to arrest anyone for violating the law, it will be Federal Agents who will Arrest the Governor for violation of Federal Law.
Whenever there is conflict between Federal Law enforcement agents against local cops, the Feds Win.

Trump said to open all places of worship because they are essential. However he didnt say remove all restrictions when opening. There are people who would storm 770 if restrictions were not in place. I agree 10 people is crazy but meanwhile trump didnt change it. He just said to open
That is NOT true and there is no such executive order signed! Why spread false information?! The POTUS can not just verbalize his preference into an executive order and has NO right to make such an executive order by going over state’s governor’s. The 10 people with proper physical distancing and face covering is still in effect for tefillah or any religious gathering until the governor changes the state rule. Stay safe and הכי חשוב בריאות!
If government thought shopping in supermarkets were dangerous it would be delivery only. Everything can be ordered by phone or online. Obviously they think it’s OK to go into a supermarket but don’t see the importance of a shul!
