The helicopter that landed in Crown Heights on Thursday afternoon? The NYPD didn’t like it.
According to sources, police followed the chopper after it had landed at the corner of Carroll Street and Troy Avenue and picked up 2 unidentified passengers.
An NYPD Aviation Unit flew behind it to the Lakewood Township Municipal Airport in New Jersey. the New York Daily News reported.
Reports called the landing “unauthorized” and the pilot of the R66 Robinson was questioned about the trip.
The stop in Crown Heights at around 1:30 PM has drawn the attention of many residents, speculating its cause.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident, police sources said.

Bonnie & Clyde went kosher shopping 🛍
Haha Love it but gotta be careful!
Any markings? Can’t see if there is a tail number–usually starts with the letter N followed by numbers. That would identify the owner.
aircraft ownership is often murky
A known Lubavitcher was picked up by his friend who has a chopper. He was getting a ride with his daughter.
Nothing sketchy.
A lubavitcher man celebrated his birthday with a friend who flies a helicopter who gave him a helicopter ride
Its all good 🙂
i don’t really care, but if everyone that has a helicopter starts flying around picking up friends……without a permit…….it can cause very bad accidents…….the sky is not the road…..
im sure the pilot was properly lisenced and had a little more then a clue of what he was doing

It’s all in the priorities..
The pilot claimed he had prior permission to land there but apparently ATC did not authorise him to land there and this is being investigated by the FAA.
