A Brooklyn youth has been charged today with a hate crime after an attack on a Jewish passenger on the southbound 3 train on Monday.
17 year-old Stephen Stowe of Brooklyn was arrested after a scuffle with police at the Brooklyn Museum stop.
According to police, Stowe peppered the Jewish rider with anti-Semitic remarks before stealing the victim’s cell phone.
Stowe told the victim, “They should have killed all of you.”
A video taken by a passenger showing Stowe scuffling with police during his arrest was uploaded to the Gothamist website.
Stowe has been arraigned on eight counts, including harassment and grand larceny—-which has been filed as a hate crime.
Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) offered high praise to the NYPD, calling their response “quick” and “efficient.” Hikind added, “Our city has no room for hate.”
I think they are finally using RIGHT force to put the REAL criminals behind bars!!
When I first watched the video I though the police where using excessive force on the girl and even after reading about anti semitic incident I still believe the NYPD needs to get better training and tools…
