NY Governor David Paterson held a pre-Chanukah party and a Salute to Israel’s 60th anniversary, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in NY City.
Among the participants were many community activists including Chaplain Col. Yaakov Goldstein and Devorah Halberstam. Also in attendance was Rabbi Shimon Kramer of Chabad of Merrick, and Yosef Kramer, who has been doing Mivtzoim with NY officials for a few years now.
Rabbi Shimon Kramer presented the Governor with JEM’s Chanukah DVD.
The Governor spoke about Chanukah, and the Israeli and US anthems were performed.
“People had a lot of questions about how the attaack in Mumbai would affect Chabad’s activities in the future,” said Kramer. “There was a real feeling of warmth for Chabad, especially after the tragic events that took place.”
The man is a hard worker, and has pulled through for many important causes. I was disheartened when I heard about the skit of him on SNL.
CH/Chabad is lucky to have people like Yosef who dont mix in the machlokos and make a kiddush lubavitch!
