Moshe Nunez makes his comeback to the music world with his hit “Purim Day”.
This song is a musical story about PURIM DAY in Crown Heights where the Nunez family took residence in New York although they did not know many people.
When their first Purim came they were overwhelmed by the dozens of mishloach manot received from so many people, many of them whom they did not even know.
This welcome showed the true spirit of Purim which Moshe, his wife and especially the children felt so welcome into the Rebbe’s community.
After reviewing all of the brightly wrapped presents, their young daughter, Simcha, happily exclaimed with a sparkle of joy in the eyes of a child, “Tatty, Ima, look at all those shiny baskets, it’s like a table full of friends”. And voila, a song was born about their first Purim in Crown Heights. Its unforgettable message now being shared with you, embodied in this modern beat which says clearly “a freilichen Purim to you”.
Moshe got his musical start at a very young age playing the guitar, bass and drums. He sang in a band for years recording several LP’s back in the 1980’s. After getting married and starting a software consulting career, the music lay silent for many years.
Some 20 years later, after the Nunez Family moved to Crown Heights, their gift of music came to life again and after encouragement from many friends, Moshe and his wife ChanaLeah, put together the soon to be released album of “Kol HaNeshama”.
This album is a blend of cultures, life experiences and music genres, with beautiful rhythms, weaving a fabric of unity and peace and the ability within each person to change the world for good…….Kol Haneshama, music that will touch your heart and energize your soul! All original music, all for you….enjoy!

It was Purim Day
The sun was shining so bright
There were children on the streets
In Beautiful Crown Heights
They were all dressed up
With food gifts in their hands
Knocking many doors
Outside my Door they’d stand
They came to deliver a present
Fulfilling a Bracha or Two
We were sharing, smiling and laughing
As we said from one Jew to another Jew
A Freilichen Purim To You
A Freilichen Purim To You
A Freilichen Purim To You
A Freilichen Purim To You
The gifts were on the table
The Food was almost cooked
The guests were on their way
When my child looked up
A smile lit up her face
With words of joy she did say:
Tati Dear,
Don’t you feel so happy?
Purim’s so special
I don’t want it to go away
Look at all those shiny baskets
That people did send
Look around and thank Hashem
It’s like a table full of friends
Like a table full of friends
Freilichen Purim to You
A Freilichen Purim to You
Purim has past
What a lovely time we had
A time to remember
Our Brothers from the past
The story of Queen Esther
And Uncle Mordechai
That through prayer and fasting
Changed the dark to light
As friends we must all be united
And we must never ever forget
That when a blessing comes to your door
Open your heart and let it in
It was Purim Day
The sun was shining so bright
There were children on the streets
In Beautiful Crown Heights
