Chassidim, we’ve got a niggun.
Out of 28 niggunim composed on words of Kapital 110 in Tehillim, the one from France has won over a panel in Crown Heights that convenes once a year to continue this tradition.
The chosen niggun was composed by Rabbi Berel Pashter, a Mashpia in Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Chabad in the Fench town of Brunoy (listen here.
The decision was by baalei menagnim (chassidic musicians) R’ Mendel Schneersohn, Cantor Zalman Baumgarten, R’ Feitel Levin and 770 chazzan Mendel Reitzes who met Thursday in a basement in Crown Heights to hear the niggunim.
Over the years, a niggun was composed in honor of the Rebbe’s birthday on Yud Aleph Nissan and sung at farbrengens and Chabad events worldwide.
A composer who has become widely accepted – whether the committee selected his niggun or not – is R’ Sholom Bruchstat, a Crown Heights chossid known for his compositions which are universally accepted.
His niggun was sung by Shmuli Sassonkin with music by Yossi and Berry Cohen.

Looking for a committee that want to judge my niggun – but the yechi will have to be added later by whoever needs that.

Avraham Fried is a singer, not a Baal Menagen. There IS a difference.
I wanted to play the noggin for my kids. I’m glad I listened to it before. There is no yechi in the kapital unless I just don’t see it!

First of all even back then there was a bunch of niggunim but only one was sang in front of the rebbe by farbeengen so if u qant to go to farbrengen go right ahead and sing broucshtats niggun but he is getting old and can’t anymore so we sing a diffrent one and by the way he stopped for a few years and then cpntinued so when he stopped everyone didn’t accept him any more

For your info, there was always a Vaad that chose the nigun, it is about time in a long time that a different type of nigun was chosen, with all respect to Sholom brochstat, we need a change.
Please turn to chapter 71 in your psalms, and find how many Nigunim were accepted and still sung to this day.
As you said you were young, so you don’t know. But every year there was a Committee that heard different nigunim that were composed and chose diffrent nigunim, it just happens to be that most of the time they chose the nigun from Brochstat, but NOT always so before you make a statement find out the facts.
You’re wrong. There was always a commitee which chose the best song. Many times it was indeed Bruchstat’s nigun which won, but there were others as well. (For example, Shuva was made by R’ Feitel Levin – who is now a member of the commitee! Baumgarten and Schneerson were also in the commitee of old.)
So yes, this is continuing the tradition. Sorry if you’re too young to remember…

I didn’t listen to any Nigun! What is this comity all about? Whoever was the one composing the Nigun every year when the Rebbe was physically with us, should be the ONLY ONE to continue composing when the Rebbe Is spiritually with us!!! What a Chutzpa of all the guys that are trying to make some name and fame. Years ago there was ONLY one nigun for the Rebbes song and all Chassidim world wide had followed it.
