Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs (CHYE) is excited to announce the opening of a brand new workspace for women in the community!
Located in Miriam’s Motherhood Center on East New York Avenue between Troy and Schenectady, the workspace will serve as a welcome office environment for the women of our community. It will also be a place where women in Crown Heights can access a variety of resources, such as educational classes, programs, and networking opportunities.
“This new space is a wonderful opportunity for the women of our community,” said CHYE founder, Yehoshua Werde. “We’ve been operating a men’s workspace for a long time. Over the years, countless women have approached us, asking about a workspace for women, but we didn’t have one available. So when Mushka Leiter of Mothers of Crown Heights told me about her new center [Miriam’s Motherhood Center], we enthusiastically agreed that it would be a fantastic location for a women’s workspace.”
Open to all women, married and single, the workspace will feature such amenities as free WiFi and complimentary coffee, and a printer. Babysitting services are also available in the building so women with young children can have peace of mind as they utilize the workspace.
“We want [the office in Miriam’s Center] to be the go-to place for women in the community, where you can come in, get some work done, meet new people, or get in a quick workout,” said Mushka Leiter, director and founder of Mother’s of Crown Heights. “The center is not only for mothers, but it was created with them in mind.
“Our babysitting services, available on location for those who reserve in advance, makes our workspace a far more ideal destination for those with small children than a neighborhood coffee shop. I’m so glad that we can now provide this much-needed outlet and resource for women in the community.”
Space is limited. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis and requires a reservation in advance. Much like a WeWork hotdesk, users also have the option of reserving a spot for an entire month ($10/day).
The space will be open to all women in the community from 9am to 5pm Monday-Thursday every week except on Yomim Tovim.
The monthly rate is $100/month. Reduced pricing ($75/month) is available for members of Miriam’s Motherhood Center.
The workspace officially opened recently.

Miriam’s Center will function as an all-in-one resource for women in the community, hosting educational programs, fitness classes, and feature a state-of-the-art indoor playroom for toddlers, a yoga studio, and a lounge.

This is important and can make a huge difference in successful outcomes. Please sustain this snd don’t let it fizzle out in a few months like so many other endeavors.
Thus looks really nice!!
Please don’t raise the price. Even working people (especially working people who don’t receive benefits) are struggling to pay the high living rents each month and this work space will only be possible for us if this price remains stable.
Will there be a student rate for the workspace?
Please note the Miriam Center has been established in loving memory of Mrs. Miriam Friedman, matriarch of the Friedman family of shluchim and shluchos. May her memory and this wonderful space be for a blessing.
A work environment would be best as a type of quiet space – just as it would be in an office.
So proud of you and the major undertaking you saw thru – from idea to glamorously finished project. Kol hakavod!!
To the commenter who would like it to remain open – if the women use The Center and treat it like it’s theirs, I imagine it will become even more than Mushka envisioned.
genius!
Thank you for creating this!!
