Weather Update: Siyum Sefer Torah Moved Up to 11:30am!
Due to the impending snowstorm, the Hachnasas Sefer Torah for Etty in Woodbury has been moved to 11:30AM.
With heavy snow in the forecast, the Lipszyc family have announced a time change for today’s Hachnasas Sefer Torah in honor of Etty.
To ensure the safety of all attendees while still celebrating b’rov am, the event will now begin at the earlier time of 11:30am.
“We want to make sure everyone can join the simcha and still get home safely before the roads get messy,” the organizers shared.
The community is invited to join the freilichen dancing and celebration at 678 Woodbury Rd, Woodbury, NY 11797.

With hearts full of gratitude, Anash and Shluchim are invited to take part in a deeply moving moment of transformation.
On Sunday, Hei Adar (February 22), a new Sefer Torah written in memory of Etty Lipszyc, a”h -daughter of Rabbi Shalom and Rochel Leah Lipszyc – will be completed and dedicated at the Chabad house in Woodbury, Long Island.
What began in the wake of profound loss has grown into a powerful testament to Achdus. Over the past year, the Lipszyc family has felt “carried” by the global Chabad community, whose tefillos, encouragement, and support helped bring this Sefer Torah to completion.
“A Siyum Sefer Torah is more than a personal milestone,” the family shared. “It is a public declaration of the power of the Neshama and Torah. Each letter is a continuation of a living legacy—one that will be read, learned, and lived for generations to come.”
Schedule of Events:
2:30 PM – Writing of the final letters
3:30 PM – Joyous street procession and hakafos
All who have been part of this journey—through a prayer, a kind word, or support of any kind—are warmly encouraged to join in the celebration as the Torah is brought home.
