Family, friends and community members joined a joyous celebration in Crown Heights Sunday as a new Torah was completed in the merit of Chana Miriam Tarshish OBM and her daughter Frumey Shubov OBM.
Mrs. Channa Miriam Tarshish was a beloved mother and grandmother who lived in Chicago and North Miami Beach, Florida. A longtime member of the Chabad community in Chicago, she served as a Mikvah attendant and was a devoted member of the Chevrah Kadisha of Chicago. She passed away on 26 Nissan, 5780.
Frumey Shubov was a beloved mother and grandmother from the Toronto Chabad community who passed away on Shabbos, 23 Kislev, 5783 at the age of 53. She was a young bubby, Mikvah attendant, and dedicated member of the Chevrah Kadisha, who gave of herself tirelessly to everyone and anyone in need.
The embodiment of true chessed, her home was open to all, her table was never without guests, and a wedding rarely passed in the community in which she did not participate in or host a sheva brochos.
The writing of the final letters took place at the Tarshish residence in Crown Heights, followed by a procession with music and dancing to the Beinoni Shul at 556 Crown Street in Crown Heights.
