A new initiative is bringing meaningful support to Chabad shluchim families across New Jersey during some of life’s most joyful milestones.
The Hadar Family Simcha Fund, coordinated by the Vaad HaShluchim of New Jersey, has been established to ease the financial burden of family simchas by offering monetary assistance for births and weddings.
Behind the initiative are Amir and Naama Hadar, longtime friends and supporters of Chabad of Northwest New Jersey under the leadership of Rabbi Asher and Mrs. Herson, as well as Chabad of Randolph, led by Rabbi Avrohom and Mrs. Bechor. Moved by the selfless dedication of shluchim and their families, the Hadars chose to broaden their support and impact by launching this fund for shluchim statewide.
Rabbi Mendy Herson, who was recently appointed head shliach to the state following the passing of his father, Rabbi Moshe Herson obm, said the Hadars’ deep appreciation for the work of shluchim naturally evolved into this initiative. “Their decades of friendship with shluchim inspired a desire to give back in a way that touches the heart of family life,” he said. “And so, the Simcha Fund was born.”
The Hadar Family Simcha Fund offers $1,000 for the birth of a child and $3,600 toward a wedding. Applications are now open through the Rabbinical College of America at rca.edu/simcha.
The project is being led by the New Jersey Vaad HaShluchim: Rabbis Mendy Herson, Moshe Gourarie, Sholom Leverton, Shalom Lubin, Avi Richler, and Efraim Simon.
By helping with the costs of joyous life-cycle events, the Hadar Family Simcha Fund is allowing New Jersey shluchim to celebrate with less stress and more simcha.
