Rabbi Shneur and Mussi Shusterman (nee Stiefel) and their son Tzvi will be moving to Lelystad, Netherlands, to establish the first Chabad Center in the city.
Lelystad, a rapidly growing city and the capital of Flevoland province, and is known for its windsurfing, sailing, history museums, shopping and beautiful nature.
Many new families are moving to the city which has seen much recent growth and is now home to an international airport, which will attract many Jewish travelers as well.
Mussi, the daughter of Shluchim Rabbi Moshe and Chana Stiefel, grew up on Shlichus in Almere, Netherlands, and has always been involved in her parents’ Shlichus and connecting to people in the community.
Rabbi Shneur grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and says the couple is excited to begin providing for the Jewish needs of residents and tourists in the city, offering Shabbat and Holiday programming, Hebrew School, and more.
“We will be opening the first Jewish establishment in the city,” Rabbi Shneur Shusterman told COLlive.com. “We are looking forward to welcoming all Jews in Lelystad and nearby cities into our home.”
The new Shluchim are being brought down by Rabbi Moshe and Chana Stiefel, Directors of Chabad of Flevoland Province, with appreciation to the Head Shluchim of Holland Rabbi Yitschok Vorst and Rabbi Binyomin Jacobs.
