Rabbi Shneur Zalman and Mushka Minkowitz have been appointed as Shluchim to the Chevy Chase area of Maryland.
Rabbi Bentzion Geisinsky, Shliach in Bethesda/Chevy Chase in Maryland, (and director of Merkaz Menachem Chabad) announced the appointment of the new Shluchim.
Chevy Chase, a densely populated, prestigious neighborhood located in the greater Washington area, is home to thousands of Jewish families, many of whom are not affiliated with Jewish institutions.
“Although much work has been done in the area over the years, having Shluchim live in the neighborhood and focused exclusively on this community will create many new opportunities to engage with Jews of all backgrounds and acquaint them with the vast array of educational programs and projects of Chabad,” said Rabbi Geisinsky.
Rabbi and Mrs. Minkowitz and their son Mendel will be moving to their new post shortly and will join the growing family of Shluchim in the Maryland region under the leadership of the head Shluchim Rabbi Shmuel and Rochel Kaplan.
