Rabbi Eliyahu and Shayna Sapochkinsky, with their son Mendel, have recently moved on Shlichus to the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York.
The Sapochkinskys were appointed by Rabbi Shlomo Kugel, Director of Chabad of the West Side. They will be working alongside the Alevskys Chabad Family Programs of the West Side.
Eliyahu and Shayna have extensive experience teaching and working with teens, leading study groups and organizing programs. This fall they will officially launch Chabad of the Upper West Side’s CTeen branch.
CTeen offers fun and meaningful programs which harness the incredible potential of teenagers bringing purpose, self-discovery and giving back to their communities, including Weekly Supper & Study, High School Jewish clubs, Friday night and Holiday services for teens and community service projects.
Eliyahu grew up on Shlichus in Westlake Village, in Southern California. He has been involved with Cteen International since 2015, chaperoning shabbatons as well as Cteen Extreme and Heritage Trips. Shayna (Alevsky) is from the UWS and has taught at Machon Alta in Safed, at Kivun and Hebrew School, and at the Friendship Circle.
