Rabbi Moishy and Maryasha Serebryanski, together with their son Mendel, have been appointed as the new shluchim to Citrus & Hernando Counties.
In just a few days, the Serebryanskis will be moving to Beverly Hills, FL in Citrus County where they will revitalize the formerly Conservative synagogue, Congregation Beth Sholom, and establish Chabad of Citrus & Hernando Counties.
Located in the heart of Florida’s beautiful Nature Coast, the area is known for its abundance of natural freshwater springs, wildlife preserves, and scenic state parks, which attract tens of thousands of tourists yearly.
In recent years, the area has also seen new development, with housing communities steadily expanding and new families moving in. The region is home to a small but diverse Jewish population, many of whom have had little to no exposure to Chabad or organized Jewish life.
The Serebryanskis have visited the area several times throughout the past year conducting holiday services and engaging with the local Jewish community. The residents are excited for the new Shluchim to come and turn this quaint Florida gem into a center for Jewish life in the heart of the sunshine state.
Chabad of Citrus & Hernando Counties is just getting started, and every bit of support goes a long way in helping build Jewish life in this growing community.
