In honor of the new cycle of daily Rambam, Tzivos Hashem has released a new child-friendly Study Schedule, linking the daily Sefer Hamitzvos with the acclaimed Yahadus series.
In 1984, the Rebbe instituted that every man, woman, and child should learn Rambam every day. For many who don’t have the time or ability to learn three prakim—covering the mitzvos in depth, this means learning the mitzvos from Sefer Hamitzvos.
Spearheaded by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch and produced by Living Lessons in loving memory of Mrs. Sara (Charlotte) Rohr a”h, the Yahadus series presents every mitzvah in the Torah, following the systematic and topic-based order of the Rambam.
Each mitzvah is accompanied by halachos, stories, tidbits, biographies, history and more. In addition to background information, practical life-lessons are drawn from every mitzvah making each and every mitzvah—even the ones that cannot be fulfilled practically today—relevant and meaningful to people’s lives today.
The stunning graphics and easy language makes the mitzvos come alive and relevant, and thousands of children already eagerly use these books to learn for the International Chidon Hamitzvos, directed by Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, Director of Tzivos Hashem.
“The Yahadus series adds so much depth, relevance and meaning to the mitzvos, it is really a tremendous tool for children to learn and really connect with the daily mitzvos,” says Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson, Executive Director of Tzivos Hashem.
Rabbi Sholom Ber Baumgarten, Director of Operations for Tzivos Hashem says, “A few years after the Rebbe initiated to learn Rambam, a competition was started for children to learn the mitzvos well.
“Many materials were prepared over the years, and the “Yahadus” series is an extremely valuable development in making the mitzvos accessible and meaningful. With this new learning schedule, children can know which mitzvos to learn each day, and can greatly enhance their understanding of the daily mitzvos.”
