Arriving only three weeks ago, the new Chabad Shliach to the Russian city of Rostov, Rabbi Chaim Danzinger held a wide array of Purim programs for all ages.
The main event took place in the city’s main Shul and was attended by over 300 people.
The evening started with opening remarks from Rabbi Danzinger. After Megilah reading everyone enjoyed a special Purim Shpiel performed by the students of the Or Avner Jewish Day School as well as live music, cotton candy, face painting, art projects, a balloon man and of course lots of L’Chaim and refreshments.
In school, the children enjoyed a lively Purim Party with a Purim Play competition between all the classes.
A separate Purim party and meal was arranged for the elderly as well as a party at the Jewish preschool. The Jewish Youth Club held a separate party for students and young professionals attended by over 100 people.
“I am thrilled with the turnout and looking forward to reaching out to even more Jewish people in the near future,” the rabbi told COLlive.
R. Danzinger, I am thrilled to see how well you seem to be doing these days. My wife and I met you and your wife back when you came to Chabad of Pasadena and we really loved the way you brought even more light to an already shining shul as this was. May G-d bless you and keep you in good health for many many years to come, and may the people of Rostov continue to enjoy the blessing that is to have you there with them. L’Chaim!
