In response to the growing need for women to teach Adult Education, Beth Rivkah Division of Higher Learning in Crown Heights is launching a new Training Program for Adult Education, which will open for the coming academic year of 5777 (2016-2017).
Beth Rivkah’s existing Teacher Training Program has become a popular option over the last several years for Lubavitcher girls who aspire to join the field of Chinuch, the school said.
With one track for elementary education and another for early childhood, the second year students take advanced courses in Chinuch theory and methodology and get much-guided practice with peer teaching and student teaching in real classrooms.
“The success of the program has been noted by employers who are eager to hire Beth Rivkah’s graduates,” says Mrs. Hindy Gurwitz, Director of the Division of Higher Learning.
Inspired by this model of high-level education and hands-on experience, the new Training Program for Adult Education is geared toward girls who are considering the field of adult education.
The program will provide necessary tools such as independent textual study skills, selecting and using primary sources, lesson building and delivery skills. The Program will offer participants opportunities for applying their learning to practice at various adult education venues in the area.
The program is open to students who are part of the seminary beis program in either Teacher Training or Judaic Studies. Space is limited.
Please apply no later than May 26, Lag B’omer. Applications will be available after Pesach at dhl.bethrivkah.edu.
