A new children’s CD with lines of Mishnayos set to music was released in memory of the children of Shluchim who passed away recently.
The CD, entitled ‘Chassidishe Chalomos 4 – Mishnayos Bal Peh’ was produced by Shlucha Yehudis Bluming, who along with her husband Zalman, directs Chabad of Chapel Hill and Duke University.
Bluming composed the songs of Mishnayos set to nigunim in memory of a number of children of Shluchim who passed away recently. According to Jewish custom, lines of Mishnayos are said in memory of those who have passed on.
“As Chassidim, we live with the famous saying ‘Chassidim Ein Mishpocha’ – Chassidim are one family,” Bluming told COLlive.com.
“After the tragic loss of some very special shluchim’s children this past year, we all feel the desire to do something in their honor. And Mishnayos has the same letters as Neshama,” she explains.
Children will learn the whole perek alef of Pirkei Avos by heart while listening to ‘Chassidishe Chalomos vol 4,’ as each Mishna is sung and accompanied by a story and poem.
“As we tuck our dear precious children into bed, or as we take the long drive to school, here is an opportunity for them to learn and grow in their Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit,” she says.
The CD is made for women, girls and boys 9 and under.

I know the song, it’s not a new compisition. You probably meant to write that she set the words to tunes, not composed them.
Also I find it ironic that people have preserved the “cheylim- ey” but say it together with a very american “R” reish. Why is the “cheylim” more important than properly pronouncing the reish?
she has vol 3 perek lamed bais in song , this is pirkei avos first perek by heart.
Does this one have Perek Lamed Beis in Tanya. Cause were learning it in school with one of her cd’s.
I think one thing that is so beautiful is t…hat so much in our society is male-oriented . There are few role models and woman who the young generation can aspire to and get inspired by .Anyone who has been to BJJ or the farbrengens of Yehudis know that she is unqiue and I would not have that subsituted with any other male vocalists..B) the uniqueness is that it has a motherly touch -puts them to sleep with Chassidishkiet and Varmkeit-Hey there are many cd’s out there-yet lets not stifle feminine talents 😉
There are plenty of children’s tapes sung by men which you can buy instead if this tape causes issues in your home. There’s no reason why she shouldn’t produce this one which has its own unique qualities.

it is difficult for me to even use your cd’s b/c my husband works at home. to be honest, b/c of that i only purchased the first cd.. and none since- even though i’ve heard that they are good.. noise travels too well in my house..
i imagine this is a nice outlet for you.. but it could accomplish so much more if a guy sung..

8 of my children, ages from 18 down to 4 have all learned perek lamed beis ba’l peh thanks to Yehudis Bluming. Even the boys who are above 9, I have an 12 year and 14 year old, have learned the tunes by listening to their sisters and younger brothers!

I am so excited to hear vol 4 of Chassidishe Chalomos! we have the other 3 vol at home and the kids learnt soo much from them. they learnt the whole perek lamed bais by heart, the Rebbe’s and Rebbeim’s niggunim. if you don’t have the cd’s it is a must for your children!! so much toichen in an interesting way. thank you again for making this for our children.

I wish a man would also do this. I would love to listen to this type of stuff with my kids, but B”H Kol Isha prohibits me. Maybe Mrs Bluming could sell or lease out her formula to a man to sing the same?
My kids and wife LOVE these CD’s and my three year old is always quick to alert me from a far that I can’t listen and then run to turn off the CD so that I can enter the living room:)
