Rabbi Kalmenson,
You brought a shining light into the life of your Zeida. It is amazing, how your Zeida took on so many holy titles, all with a happy spirit, although coming from quite a sorrowful childhood. And as you ended your article, how most likely Rabbi Shanowiz is now requesting Moshe Rabbeinu and the Rambam to be his Chavrusa I could just imagine all the holy Neshomos (alaihem HaSholom) that are at the moment “hanging out” in Gan Eden
all asking the same question of all the Tzadikim to be their study partner.

thanks reb mendel for your masterpiece.

ps “who were brutally gunned down by the Germans yemach shemom v’zich”
(not just: “who were brutally gunned down by the Nazi’s”).
that’s how zeidy would say. he would always tell it as it is.

I didn’t know Rabbi Shanowitz a”h but my son had his son Reb Zalman as an 8th grade Rebbe. It is amazing how much they look alike.
