A new Chabad girls choir is opening in Crown Heights at the Chassidic Expressions Art & Music school and will be directed by Chaviva Elharrar.
The mission of the “Chassidic Expressions” Choir is to give girls ages 10 to 15 an opportunity to develop their musical talents, while providing a healthy outlet with which they can express themselves.
The choir is designed to fill the needs of the individual, and bring out the best in each and every girl. It is set up with the recognition that each girl has a unique role she can play, and a part of the nigun where she can shine most.
Chaviva Elharrar is teaching singing techniques and exercises to help the girls strengthen their singing abilities.
The choir also serves as a fun, and educational environment in which girls can internalize chassidishe lessons and Torah values through the meaning of the songs, and the experience of learning, singing and performing them.
The “Chassidic Expressions” Girls Choir brings out the love for Torah, and Mitzvos, and the appreciation for being a chassidishe girl, she said.
