Mrs. Sterna Kalmanson, wife of Rabbi Yechiel Menachem Mendel Kalmanson, Rosh Yeshiva of Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva in Brunoy, France passed away on Friday night, 17 Shevat, 5785.
She was 68.
Mrs. Kalmanson (nee Pevzner) is the daughter of R’ Hillel obm and Rebbetzin Eshka Pevzner, who founded the first Jewish day school in post-World War II Paris and served as the head rabbi of the Lubavitch community in Paris.
She served as the dedicated dean of the Sinai High School in Paris for decades.
She is survived by her mother Mrs. Eshka Pevzner and children, many of whom are Shluchim and educators, and her grandchildren who follow in her ways.
She is survived by her husband, Rabbi Yechiel Menachem Mendel Kalmanson and children, Rabbi Yekusiel Dov Kalmanson – Brunoy, France, Rabbi Aryeh Leib Kalmanson – Bonneville, France, Nechama Hendel – Athens, Greece, Chana Sima Kalmanson – Brussels, Belgium, Menucha Wasserman – Los Angeles, CA, Shaina Eisenbach – Brunoy, France, Alta Sara Pinson – Crown Heights, Slava Kalmanson – Brunoy, France.
She is also survived by her her mother, Mrs. Eshka Pevzner and siblings, Rabbi Avraham Baruch Pevzner – Paris, France, Rabbi Yoseph Y. Pevzner – Paris, France, Rabbi M. Mendel Pevzner – Geneva, Rivka Naparstek – Paris, and Chana Slonim – Dijon, France.
The Levaya will take place tomorrow, Sunday, at Tomchei Temimim Brunoy at 12:15 PM, and passing by Sinai school at 1:30 PM.
The Levaya will continue at Shamgar in Jerusalem on Monday at 10 AM with burial on Har Hazeisim.

Une profonde tristesse d’apprendre cette nouvelle. Mme Kalmenson était une femme extrêmement généreuse. Je me souviendrais toujours d’elle. Je pense à sa fille Slava, ma copine d’école, et toute la famille, ainsi que toutes les élèves de Sinai.
