Mrs. Rivkah Chefer, wife of the director of Bais Rivkah in Kfar Chabad, Israel Rabbi Shmuel Chefer OBM, passed away on Sunday, 27 Tishrei, 5782.
She was 90 and reportedly contracted Covid-19.
A resident of the frum city of Bnei Brak, she was born to R’ Chaim Yosef and Sonia Rosenblum (nee Gurary), Chabad chassidim in Tel Aviv. Her father was a founding member of Agudas Chassidei Chabad in Israel.
Her uncle was Rabbi Shemaryahu Gurary, also known by his Hebrew initials as Rashag, the son-in-law of the Frierdiker Rebbe and brother-in-law of the Rebbe. She merited a close connection with the Rebbe and Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson.
Her husband, Rabbi Shmuel Chefer, passed away a year and a half ago on 17 Nissan, was the director of Bais Rivkah school in Kfar Chabad, and was a member of Aguch of Israel.
Mrs. Chefer supported her husband and stood at his side as he founded Bais Rivkah and throughout his many Shlichus activities, in a Tznius and quiet manner.
She is survived by her children, Rabbi Moshe Chefer – Kfar Chabad, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Chefer – Kfar Chabad, Mrs. Devorah Shekubitzky, and Mrs. Navah Slonim; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The levaya will take place today in Israel.
