Mrs. Rivka Dina Chein, daughter of Shmuel and Gita Shteingart and granddaughter of the famed Chosid Meir Simcha Chein, passed away on Monday, 11 Kislev, 5779.
She was 90.
Mrs. Chein was born and raised in the chassidic town of Nevel in Russia.
Later, she married R’ Peretz Chein and with mesiras nefesh for Yiddishkeit, raised her family in the Soviet Union.
After her husband Peretz’s passing, she immigrated to New York, where she became the cook for the bochurim in Lubavitcher Yeshiva at 1414 President Street for almost two decades. She later remarried Rabbi Yehoshua Belsky.
She is survived by her children, Feivish Chein of Crown Heights, Meir Chein of Crown Heights and Bella Vais of Brooklyn, NY and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Levaya will take place today, Monday, leaving Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park at 1 PM, and passing by 770 at 1:45 PM, on its way to Montefiore Cemetery.
Shiva will be held at 646 Montgomery St. in Crown Heights.
